How to install the cPanel/WHM control panel on your Virtual Server

In the mini how to tutorial we will show you how to install the cPanel/WHM control panel on your Virtual Server. Please note that cPanel needs at least 512 MB of RAM memory to work, but we recommend 1 GB RAM at least. Also, as this moment cPanel can be installed on CentOS only.

How to install the cPanel/WHM control panel on your Virtual Server
To start with the installation procedure first you will need to log in to your CentOS VPS via SSH. Once you are in, at the command line type the following commands:

mkdir /home/cpanel
cd /home/cpanel
wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
sh latest

and that’s it. All you need to do now is to wait. The installation procedure may take some time (approximately 1 hour) because cPanel compile almost all the software from source.

Once everything is done it is time to setup your server. To do that open your web browser and login to cPanel/WHM using:

URL: https://SERVERIP:2087
username: root
password: (your SSH root password)

ofcourse, you will need to replace “SERVERIP” with your CentOS VPS IP address.
